Our Story
Vibrant Research Forum 101 (VRF101) was founded on 20th October 2023 with a simple but powerful goal: to offer free and open access to academic research support across all levels of scholarship. What began as a small initiative has quickly evolved into a thriving, inclusive platform where researchers, faculty, peer reviewers, and seasoned consultants gather to learn, share, and grow.
Driven by a commitment to a vibrant research writing support, engaging Research Talks, and a collaborative research culture, VRF101 has become a lifeline for many who seek meaningful mentorship and academic empowerment outside traditional institutional boundaries. Our sessions, mainly held during early morning hours on public holidays, have become signature spaces for learning, inspiration, and academic excellence.
With over 700 members in our WhatsApp group and more than 120 registered Affiliate Members as of April 2025, our community continues to expand rapidly.
Under the guidance of our Founder and Patron, Dr. Simon Obwatho, and through the leadership of our Chair, Mr. Jairus Mutinda, and Secretary, Mr. Roy Odhiambo, we are building a future where no researcher walks alone.
To ensure strategic growth and sustainability, VRF101 is guided by a seven-member Steering Committee that provides leadership, coordinates key initiatives, while upholding the Forum’s values. This committee oversees the strategic and operational smooth running of VRF101.
As we look ahead, VRF101 remains committed to creating a future where no researcher walks alone.
